My wife and I have been married for three wonderful years, and have a beautiful baby boy. Recently my wife lost her job, and then a few days later, I lost mine too. Instead of letting us get upset about it, my wife pointed out that this was the perfect opportunity to move abroad. Both of us are only children and our parents have passed on. Since we have no family ties here, we’ve always talked about moving out of the country. So we’ve been spending a lot of time on the expat exchange, looking for jobs and real estate in Ireland. We may not have family here anymore, but our families both immigrated from Ireland years ago, so we are in effect “moving home”.
