My son just got his first paycheck from his first job, and brought his paycheck stub to me, asking why money had been taken out. I explained to him that the government withholds a certain portion of your paycheck for tax purposes. He said to me “What kinds of taxes dad?” I had no answer, which really bothered me. I have never wondered where the money from my checks go, and that seems wrong. So I did some research, and found out about the stop withholding taxes movement. I wrote a letter to my congressman, asking him to support this movement too, because now I believe people should be involved in their government and in the taxes that support it.
