In Australia there seem to be a lot of births that happen during a hurricane.  The theory being that the sudden drop in air pressure  can bring on labor.   When our town received word that a storm was going to hit us the first Hurricane Advisory that we would hear was for all women in their third trimester to report to the hospital.  They would then be kept there until the storm was over so that they would not have to run the risk of being rushed to the hospital in hurricane force winds.  I do not remember any children being born during a storm but do remember the lines of cars dropping off mothers to be.
