When it comes to being a single parent, you have got to maintain a balance in your home of being both parents. This can be stressful and cause you to be surly around your children, something you surely want to avoid. A single parent benefits from the help of others in this situation, and you are not doing yourself any favors if you do not allow your friends and neighbors to help you out, especially with babysitting. Over the course of my growing years, I had seen our family use many different blenders. Some were cheap ones that my Mother bought just so we had one on hand every time we needed it. On Thursday night I had to go down to my sons school. It was parents night and I was there to learn about how my son was doing in school. I was happy to hear that my son was doing well and that he will be passing the fifth grade with flying colors. I then started to talk with my son’s teacher about apartments. She told me that she and her future husband were looking at some chicago apartments in the loop. She knew that one of my sister’s has lived there for awhile and wanted to know how she liked living there.

My grandmother spends most of her time in our terrace rocking in her old, comfortable rocking chair. When our son and daughter-in-law got married we knew it was going to be hard on her.  She was from India and even though her family flew over for the wedding it was obvious that she had missed them.  After five years of marriage our son announced that he had just gotten a new job.  It was in India and he was to start in three months.  We now knew what her family went through as we watched them preparing for Moving Back to India.  We will have to fly over there to visit them and hope that in five more years they will return here to live.
